On September 24, the Irving Institute will host two executive panels: Panel 1 | Bubble or Breakthrough: How Capital Shapes the Energy Transition Investors, developers, and scholars debate whether capital flowing into fusion, geothermal, and other frontier energy tech signals real breakthroughs or another bubble—and what past cycles reveal about who wins and loses in the energy transition. Panel 2 | Beyond the Bottleneck: Financing the Grid America Needs Now The U.S. has the technology to dramatically expand grid capacity—but financing, regulation, and incentives aren't yet aligned to match. This panel explores why buildouts lag, who bears the cost, and where capital should flow next.
