About This Event

A writer, director and oncologist, Roshan Sethi will read from his debut novel and discuss translating real-world medicine into compelling film and television. Acclaimed screenwriter, director and physician Roshan Sethi, who recently joined us virtually after a screening of his latest film A Nice Indian Boy, now joins us in person to share a preview of his debut novel The Simp, due to release this summer. This razor-sharp novel charts the rise and fall of an unemployed actor who lands the greatest role of his life when he's hired as a personal assistant to a demanding, highly absurd Hollywood family. Roshan is joined in conversation by Professor Dawn Carey, Senior Associate Director (Global Health and Development) for the Dickey Center for International Understanding. They will discuss how Roshan has translated real-world medicine into compelling film and television, from TV shows like The Resident to the abortion drama Call Jane. Enjoy a free drink during the event and stick around after for a book signing! This event is free and unticketed. Get more info here.
