Dramatic, bold and expressive, discover the transformative power of Monteverdi's music. William Christie and Paul Agnew, directors Join Baroque masters William Christie and Paul Agnew for a revelatory program of Monteverdi's finest madrigals for mixed voices, including a performance of the iconic Il Combattimento (The Combat of Tancred and Clorinda). Christie's incredible journey began at Dartmouth as a professor of Music and we are excited to welcome him back. He reunites with Agnew for the first time since the 40th anniversary of Les Arts Florissants in 2019. Christie will lead the continuo from the harpsichord, and Agnew will lead and sing in the vocal ensemble, joined by singers who are rising stars from the next generation.
