On Saturday, November 21, join the Raqs Salaam Dance Theater for their 22nd Annual Showcase entitled: IT’S 2026 - THE SHOW MUST GO ON! This year’s show features Egyptian, Turkish, Persian, and Afghan dance, American Belly Dance and much more. THE SHOW MUST GO ON is truly a smorgasbord – or “meze plate” as it might be termed in the Middle East – of foreign and domestic dance cultures, as they intersect and create an explosion of joy for all.

Through dance, you’ll see how Turkish dance from “there” influenced night club Belly Dance “here”. You’ll learn how Persian music recently gave birth to an international #1 pop hit, and see it danced Persian style. You’ll be dazzled by how westerners have been inspired by the flow and color of fabric seen in Middle Eastern dance, and how it has birthed entirely different dance genres.

Far beyond libraries, the university degree, hospitals and musical notation, the people of the Middle East have brought gifts to western civilization too numerable to count. This year’s show celebrates the spectacular dances that come from Egypt, Turkey, Iran, and Afghanistan and how they bring joy and inspiration to our lives. Our show is family friendly and appropriate for any child able to sit quietly. Come be mesmerized and entertained by a night that will create shared moments of transcendence for all of us.

Our reserve ticket show will be at 7:30 pm at the Mascoma Community Auditorium, inside Mascoma High School. Tickets go on sale October 13. http://www.GinaDances.com/events
