About This Event

This raw, resonant documentary road trip across the US asks what it means to be an American. Over nine months, immigrant filmmakers Horacio Marquinez and Kirill Myltsev crisscrossed the United States—from desert outposts to the Capitol steps on January 6 to chaotic city corners—capturing the voices of everyday Americans. With a knack for striking up conversations in unlikely places, they speak with gun shop owners, conspiracy theorists, grieving mothers, undocumented workers, small-town locals and many others. The result: a textured, unvarnished portrait of a country reckoning with itself. America Unfiltered invites us to pause, listen—and find the unexpected threads that bind us. Discussion follows. This screening and the accompanying photo exhibit in the Nearburg Forum (July 1-17) are programmed in collaboration with Dartmouth Dialogues. This event is free and unticketed. Get more info here.
