Traditional "viva voce" or living voice assessments like oral exams, verbal defenses, and presentations are regaining in popularity as instructors seek to minimize student use of AI. In this session, we will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of oral assessment strategies and consider recent examples from Dartmouth and beyond.
