About This Event
Join us in our backyard for an evening of nocturnal nature observation with lepidopterist JoAnne Russo. Using UV lights and white sheets, JoAnne will attract moths and other nighttime insects, offering a rare close-up look at the creatures that do much of their work after dark.
This is a drop-in, self-guided observation event. JoAnne will be on hand throughout the evening to help with identification and answer questions.
Bring a camera or cell phone, a headlamp or small flashlight, and eye protection (UV glasses, UV reading glasses, or regular eyeglasses). UV flashlights are welcome.
Free! Please consider a $5 donation at the door to support our programs.
Parking will be available across the common at 15 Main Street (courtesy of The Lyme Historians) or at the Lyme Park & Ride.
Note: This is an in-person experience only. The Moth Ball will not be streamed or recorded.
