About This Event
This event is led by Kumari Patricia, co-founder of Kumari of the Woods and it is designed to support your story of loss and transforming memory, image and word spoken of your grief.
Your loss may be from death or divorce or separation from a loved one. It might be a deeper loss of health and well-being, home, work, or a heavy political and cultural ancestral grief.
Here is how this works: Bring your story of grief with you in your heart and we will walk in silence, pausing at places where you can meditate, write, draw, and give you time you will cherish to remember. I will walk with you and lead but not tell you what to do. I will suggest and invite.
You will know what heals you.
As we circle the trail at Kumari of the Woods (around 1/2 mile, some slightly uphill) we will stop and you have a choice. You can continue to write and be alone or join a group session. In that session you are invited to share your story. There will be a break before this group and once in group our conversation will stay confidential within our group. There is an expectation that if you stay for the group, you will share and not just listen.
This could be the beginning or the end of your grief journey. Or you may be in the middle of grieving and need to connect with yourself and your loss differently.
The forest heals. The walk is silent. My guidance is minimal but focused.
Join us on Saturday, the 25th of July and we will explore how loss has shaped you, changed you and continues to guide you forward in your life’s transformation. To heal you must be ready for change. You must stay open to how life looks different and what you need to let go of and what you can hold onto.
Cost is $20 per participant.
Limit will be 16 knowing some will not stay for the entire group.
Time Commitment: 1-2 pm for our walk and 2:15-3:45 pm for the group. Plan to wear boots or good walking shoes for our walk.
We start our walk at the mouth of the trail, beginning of the driveway at Kumari of the Woods, 160 Kumari Lane, formerly known as 28 Durkee Road, Strafford.
Please be on time.
Rain Date: Sunday July 26th
